Birmingham Newman University enjoys a strong and expanding profile in Psychology. Psychology currently has five flourishing undergraduate Psychology programmes: Psychology, Psychology with Counselling Studies, Psychology and Childhood Studies, Psychology with Criminology, and Forensic Psychology. We also offer these five programmes as a four-year degree with foundation year. All our undergraduate Psychology programmes are accredited by the British Psychological society (BPS) and we are a recognised market leader with our innovative online MSc Programme in Clinical Applications of Psychology. The portfolio also includes MSc Psychology (Conversion). A BPS accredited programme taught through a blended learning mode.
We are seeking to appoint a full-time Fixed Term (maternity cover) Lecturer in Psychology – Forensic focused (or related discipline) to join our team, specifically delivering modules in ‘The Psychology of Offending’, ‘Applying Psychology to the Criminal Justice System’, ‘Assessing and Reducing Risk of Recidivism’, and ‘Interventions for Offending Behaviour’.
The post holder will design, plan and deliver a range of learning activities utilising a range of teaching methods, prepare and mark assessments, improve teaching by self-reflection and student feedback, and engage with wider university business. They will lead Psychology modules, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and act as a personal tutor.
