The School of Health & Social Care at Edinburgh Napier University is a vibrant academic community for over 3,400 students and 160 staff. Our strategic aim is to make an enduring impact on health, care and society in Scotland and beyond and we do that through the provision of high-quality programmes of education as well as research / knowledge exchange.
We have an established educational portfolio at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels which includes transnational educational provision. We also offer a range of postgraduate programmes, including our highly innovative, pre-registration programmes for Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work. Additionally, we are the only university in Scotland that provides undergraduate and postgraduate education for nursing (all fields of practice) and midwifery.
The Role:
As a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy, you will have the opportunity to use your experience and passion to develop professional graduates of the future through the effective delivery of learning, teaching, research and knowledge exchange.
You will use your knowledge and expertise to deliver effective teaching and mentorship, including the opportunity to translate relevant professional practice (including research) into a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that will prepare and inspire the next generation of Occupational Therapists undertaking our MSc Occupational Therapy programme.
We anticipate that best practice will be of the highest priority to you, so you will also have remit to build and complement our commitment to knowledge exchange e.g. through the development of continuous professional development courses, as well as to support the creation of strategic partnerships.
Further growing and contributing to the evidence-base of Occupational Therapy will likely be just as important to you, and we welcome your contribution to our interdisciplinary partnerships in research, teaching and practice.
You will be joining a team of motivated, approachable, and professional people, committed to their discipline, who have a good sense of camaraderie including expectations about supporting each other through partnership working, a commitment to stewardship, and with a focus on building our careers together, aligned to and with organisational objectives.
Furthermore, if you have ongoing practice experience, you will have the opportunity to use your up-to-date knowledge and skills to keep our courses current, relevant and at the pinnacle of excellence.
