The University has flexible location principles, but there is an expectation that this post, will where be required, be able to be on campus any day of the working week.
We are looking to appoint a Business Lead with substantial proven experience of managing business processes across a large or complex service operation who will successfully support the delivery of a new Student Record System, on time and on budget, through a new programme of work, i.e. Project Phoenix.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Business Lead – Project Phoenix is responsible for providing a link between the project (Project Phoenix) and the business (University of Hertfordshire). Through the lifecycle of the project, they will provide expert advice and work closely with the Business Visionary in being the voice of the University.
You will work closely alongside the Business Visionary to assist in defining the Project Phoenix Vision, lead on the communication between the user community and the project team and be responsible for ensuring that the solution meets user expectations, satisfies user needs and realises business benefits. The Business Lead – Project Phoenix will be responsible for ensuring user needs are understood and accurately specified, leading and coaching a team of Subject Matter Experts to be: experts on business processes in their area, experts on software in their area, developing training and how to guides. You will oversee the review, development and innovation of Project Phoenix processes ensuring changes are documented and staff support, and training is provided.
Skills and experience required
You will have substantial proven experience of managing a large development project or complex service operation, experience of writing impactful/successful committee/board papers or business cases and proven experience and ability to engage with a wide range of people, in a customer focused environment. You will also have experience of managing work activities which require a high level of collaborative working, time management and negotiating skills in a busy environment. Experience and understanding of the academic management and business and process requirements of education providers is desirable for this role.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent or proven administrative experience. A relevant professional qualification in project management and/or relevant accreditation is desirable.
