About the role
We are seeking a Departmental Lecturer to manage and deliver the MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation, and Nature Recovery (BCNR), working closely with the Academic Director and Director of Graduate Studies (PGT). This five-year fixed-term career development role offers valuable experience in teaching, course coordination, and academic administration, alongside opportunities to advance personal research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination, teaching, assessment, and supervision for the MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation, and Nature Recovery.
- Contribute to academic administration, including membership of the Graduate Teaching and Examinations Committee.
- Maintain an active research and publication profile in biodiversity conservation and related fields.
As a career development role, this post provides structured support for professional growth, including access to an annual research/CPD allowance. Regular career review meetings will be held to assess progress, refine goals, and explore further development opportunities over the five-year term.
About You
You will have a PhD in biodiversity, conservation, or a related field and a strong record in teaching, research, and programme coordination. As well as:
- Experience teaching high-ability students using engaging pedagogic methods.
- Expertise in course development, lecturing, fieldwork, and dissertation supervision.
- Strong organisational and communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
- A postdoctoral research record with high-quality publications and an active research agenda.
- Experience with qualitative/quantitative research and analytical techniques.
