About the Role
The Department of Film, within the School of the Arts is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Film (Teaching and Scholarship). (17.5 hours p/w) and fixed-term with an expected start date of 01 January 2026 – 31 December 2027 and available to cover staff absence through research grant funding.
Duties will include convening and teaching undergraduate modules, contributing to MA provision as appropriate, (co)-supervising PhD students, and undertaking administrative roles as required within the Department. You will be expected to teach on modules including but not restricted to: The Visual Essay, Montage across the Arts, Cognitive Film Theory, and MA Film Studies.
About You
You will hold a PhD in Film or have an equivalent professional qualification, together with the ability to deliver teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The ability to work constructively and flexibly with colleagues, good organisational and communicative skills are also essential.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is part-time (17.5 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 2 years (until 31 December 2027), with an expected start date of 01 January 2026. The starting salary will be Grade 5, £50,685 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
