We are inviting experienced candidates with international qualifications to apply a faculty position in the School of Computing and Innovative Technologies, specialised in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, at one of the following ranks, depending on qualification and experience. 

LECTURER (Academic Level B) - Instructor with academic experience (with PhD)

SENIOR LECTURER (Academic Level C) - Instructor with academic and research experience (with PhD) 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

The position requires a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, along with substantial university-level teaching experience and a proven ability to engage and inspire students. Candidates must possess expertise in data analysis, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, big data, quantitative analysis, and data visualization, as well as proficiency in relevant programming languages and AI technologies. The role combines theoretical expertise with practical application, guiding students through industry-standard tools and methodologies used in the data science and AI industry.

BUV encourages innovation in course delivery, allowing faculty to adapt and improve their modules. Experience in module design and innovative teaching methods is highly regarded.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Essential

• PhD or Doctoral qualifications and a Master's degree in a relevant discipline from an internationally recognized institution.
• University or postgraduate teaching experience in English.
• Advanced knowledge of Data Science and AI; proficiency in programming languages and data management tools.
• Understanding of data visualization tools.
• Higher education teaching qualification or willingness to pursue one.
• Ability to develop teaching programs and provide learning support.
• Knowledge of higher education delivery techniques to engage students.
• In-depth understanding of the discipline to advance knowledge.
• Evidence of a positive impact beyond personal teaching.
• Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and quality assurance.
• Research experience and high-quality publications.
• Understanding of equal opportunity issues affecting academic content.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Clean police record. 

Desirable

• Mathematical and Statistical skills, experience in quantitative analysis.
• Industry experience and evidence of excellent teaching through peer review.
• Experience living and working in Vietnam or Asia.
• Experience in curriculum development and quality assurance.
• Positive impact at a discipline or program level beyond personal teaching.
• Evidence of high-quality publications and up-to-date research activity.
• Ability to lead research projects, win bids, and generate income.
• Experience teaching at postgraduate levels.

Note: Original certificates and degrees must be presented upon arrival in Vietnam, including degree, teaching certificates, and Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) or other police checks for work permit purposes.
