The Opportunity
This post has a focus on and responsibility for, a significant proportion of the teaching of Undergraduate Performance Costume students. Alongside this, the postholder will be expected to contribute where appropriate to broader cross-disciplinary teaching, relevant to Performance Costume.
The post involves designing course content, and teaching delivery towards creative and contemporary performance costume practices. This includes teaching specialisms such as costume design, contemporary pattern cutting, costume draping, historical pattern cutting, dress histories and historical tailoring skills.
Additionally, you will be expected to support the development and embedding of new and emerging technologies and practices relating to costume pattern cutting, design costume dissemination in an educational context. You will have an in-depth knowledge of the field of performance costume for stage, screens and moving image.
