The role

An opportunity has arisen within the Faculty of Arts Admissions Team for an individual to join us on a fixed term one year contract for the role of Senior Postgraduate Admissions Officer (PGR).

What will you be doing?

As the Senior Postgraduate Admissions Administrator (PGR) you will lead the postgraduate marketing, recruitment and admissions process for the Faculty of Arts, from initial contact through application stage to registration. This also includes playing a lead role in the funding and scholarships process for the Faculty. You will also line manage the Faculty PGR Admissions Team which provides operational support to deliver the Faculty’s postgraduate recruitment strategy, delivering tasks associated with the monthly and annual applicant life cycle and registration.

You will deliver a high-quality customer experience to all contacts, which involves supporting both academic staff and prospective students through the application process.  You will build positive relationships to ensure that all applicants are kept engaged with the Faculty and develop and implement marketing and recruitment strategies to achieve student number targets. You will also be responsible for overseeing decision outcomes to applicants for both places of study and funding, so a keen eye for detail and adherence to policies and entry requirements is key.

To be successful in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, a good level of numeracy, and the ability to work under pressure to important deadlines. The ability to manage your own workload as well as that of the team is essential. A strong customer care orientation and commitment to service quality is also needed as is a friendly, patient and positive attitude.

This is a part-time role, starting on 3rd March 2025 or sooner if possible.

This role is not suitable for current or previous students (Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught or Postgraduate Research).
