An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Officer to join the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering Finance team, supporting the School of Computer Science & Informatics and School of Mathematics within a fast paced environment.
Both Schools have experienced periods of significant growth over recent years, expanding teaching and research portfolios and this is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the continued growth and ensure ongoing strong financial performance. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be a proactive and collegial member of the Schools Professional Service staff, and work closely with finance colleagues across the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering.
The successful candidate will have the ability and enthusiasm to provide an effective, efficient and quality driven support service to the Schools, providing senior oversight on financial processes and ensuring compliance with University Financial Regulations. You will be required to work as part of a team within the Schools and the wider College, which will include supporting a number of process improvement projects across the College in the forthcoming academic year. You will need to be comfortable in escalating finance matters on behalf of the team where required.
Both schools are co-located in Abacws and this role is eligible to be offered on a blended working basis, meaning that as well as spending time working on campus you can also choose to spend some time working from another location, e.g. your home. This position is full-time (35 hours per week), is fixed term for 12 months to cover a secondment and available immediately.

Salary: £32,332 per annum, with 3 annual increments up to the top of scale, £34,980 per annum (Grade 5)
This is an exciting time to be joining Cardiff University in a finance role as we are transforming how and where we provide our Finance Services. This includes the creation of a Finance Services Unit which will bring together all operational Finance services across the University into one Unit.
