The role
This Academic Clinical Lecturer (ACL) post is an opportunity for a talented clinical academic to establish themselves as an independent researcher working within the NIHR theme of clinical therapeutics and pharmacology. This post will provide up to four years post-doctoral training with either the Bristol Renal research group or one of the teams undertaking infection research within the University of Bristol. The appointee will be expected to complete a CCT in medical microbiology, infectious disease or renal medicine within the post.
What will you be doing?
The successful applicant will split their time 50:50 between clinical training at North Bristol NHS trust or another appropriate trust and academic work at the University of Bristol, appointed at the appropriate point on the clinical lecturer scale. Within the sessions at the University, the main activity will be research although involvement in teaching will also be expected. Time will be divided into blocks of clinical or academic work as is most appropriate especially for the research the appointee plans to pursue, which may include overseas working.
You should apply if
You have completed core clinical training or are otherwise eligible for higher specialist training in respiratory or renal medicine in the UK at ST3 level or above.
