This new full-time Grade E post is available immediately on a fixed-term basis until 31st July 2027, within Research Services, facing the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (HLS).

The postholder will have responsibility for delivering impact training and guidance to academic colleagues at the university to staff at all levels.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on our Streatham campus, Exeter, or Penryn campus, Cornwall and some time from home. The post is suitable for job share candidates.

About you

  • You will have experience of working in a research support or impact support role, ideally collecting evidence or undertaking impact evaluations to demonstrate the impact of research
  • You will have a good understanding of the range of potential research impact, including how it can be tracked and evidenced in preparation for future REF impact case studies
  • You will have experience of providing training to small and large groups of people, as well delivering as bespoke 1:1 guidance
  • You will have excellent communication skills enabling effective collaborations which stimulate the trust, confidence and enthusiasm of the academic community, partner organisations and external bodies
  • You will work effectively with staff at all levels and across all academic disciplines
  • You will have a good understanding of the higher education sector
  • You will have excellent attention to detail
  • You will be able to work on your own initiative and be good at problem-solving
