Do you have the ability to assess situations and respond efficiently to incidents? If you have good customer service and pastoral care skills when dealing with people, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to pass on information clearly, then you could be a great candidate for a Security Officer at the University of Kent, primarily based at our Medway Campus.
We are keen to hear from you if you are enthusiastic and motivated to be part of a committed security team in providing excellent customer service and pastoral care to the University and its diverse groups of people.
We actively encourage applications from all communities and previous experience in security or a similar role is not essential, as full training will be provided.
As Security Officer you can expect to be involved in:
Undertaking security activities to contribute to the consistent delivery of a first-class security service provided by the University, in order to maintain a safe and secure environment, prevent crime and anti-social behaviour and keep students, staff, contractors and visitors safe from harm.
Being involved in student and staff engagement activities to further develop security student/staff trust and relationships.
You will be required to work both day and evening shifts on a rota basis, so flexibility is needed. You will have four days working followed by two days non-working, enabling a good work-life balance - shift patterns will be discussed at interview.
