Background
The Marketing Officer position is part of the Student Marketing and Recruitment Team within City, University of London’s Marketing and External Relations Department. The role specifically focuses on UK and undergraduate marketing, aiming to boost student recruitment through strategic campaigns, targeted email communications and content creation.
Responsibilities
This role focuses on developing and delivering undergraduate (UG) marketing activities, including email communications, advertising campaigns, and content creation. Reporting to the UG Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to enhance our marketing reach and recruitment.
Duties will include creating, editing, and updating content for web, social media, and email; and developing and delivering research projects to identify market trends. They will implement key advertising campaigns, liaising with media agencies as well as collaborating on key marketing projects, including video production. Data analysis will also be required along with supporting at recruitment events.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will hold a degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field or have equivalent experience. Experience in marketing, preferably within higher education is required along with strong copywriting and content creation skills. They will be able to analyse data and generate insights and have proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms. Excellent organisational and communication skills are required along with a collaborative mindset and proactive approach to tasks. They will demonstrate a commitment to City, University of London’s values and policies.
