About the Role
Applications are sought for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join Professor Michelangelo Campanella’s research group in the Centre for Clinical Pharmacology at the William Harvey Research Institute, Barts and the London School of Medicine at Queen Mary University of London. The successful candidate will contribute to the endeavors of the Mitochondrial Cell Biology and Pharmacology Research Group.
About You
You should have a PhD in biological/chemical sciences or equivalent qualification, have demonstrable research experience relevant to the project and own digital literacy. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with experience in laboratory research and experience with the following research techniques: live cell imaging, biochemistry, molecular biology, and tissue culture. Bio-informatic skills will be welcome too.
You will be equipped with adequate communication skills and an inclination for teamwork. Be able to project a positive attitude, be attentive to technical novelty and show openness to the circulation of knowledge. You will have the ability to work independently and have a sound knowledge of health and safety management.
About the Centre
The Centre of Clinical Pharmacology is led by Professor Patricia Munroe. The Centre consists of 29 Academic staff, 46 Research, Technical and Clinical Trials Staff, 28 PhD students and 48 Honorary staff. It is the largest Centre in the William Harvey Research Institute. The Centre’s research strategy is to combine basic science, to inform inflammation, vascular biology, and large-scale genetic epidemiology with the overall goal to innovative therapy by outlying novel suitable targets.
