This new full-time (1.0 FTE) post is available immediately on a permanent basis.
This post will support the daily running of the Medical School’s LSRC and CSRC. The LSRC is a vital component of the students’ ‘learning landscape’ and is used for scheduled teaching and as a ‘drop-in’ resource centre for students to study by themselves. The resource centre contains plastic models of anatomical structure, bones and human tissue, AV equipment, laptops, books and clinical equipment. In addition to the more hands-on elements, there will be desk-based administrative and digital support work to be completed.
This post will also provide technical support for the teaching activities of the College and Medicine and Health within the Clinical Skills Resource Centre (CSRC) and Simulated Nursing ward at the Heavitree hospital site. The role holder will work closely with Clinical Skills teaching staff, Assistant Technical Managers and the Technical Operations Manager to deliver hands-on support for the practical skills-based learning of undergraduate students within the simulated nursing ward and CSRC using simulated equipment such as SIMMAN and Nursing Anne manikins.
The job holder will work as part of a team of technicians and teaching staff within the LSRC and CSRC, and as part of a wider team of technical specialists across the university. At times there may be a need for flexibility to support other local areas when cover is needed.
