Are you a motivated and adaptable individual, excited to contribute to innovative research in a collaborative and supportive environment?
About the role
We are seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to groundbreaking research on the human response to building motion, with a strong focus on physiological testing.
This interdisciplinary project tackles the pressing challenge of making tall buildings more sustainable by minimising material usage and carbon emissions without compromising the comfort of occupants.
For the first time, this research will place a spotlight on the physiological and psychological impacts of building motion. Through in-depth physiological assessments, we aim to produce actionable insights that will inform design guidelines, enabling the construction industry to develop efficient, low-carbon structures that prioritise occupant well-being.
The research is conducted at the University of Bath’s pioneering VSimulators facility, which uses virtual reality and a moving hydraulic platform to simulate building sway under lifelike conditions.
