Are you looking to use your proven skills in running projects to facilitate the success of a high-profile, complex, national initiative? The UK's Knowledge Exchange Hub for Mathematical Sciences [KE Hub] is seeking to appoint an experienced project coordinator/administrator to join our small team as KE Hub Coordinator. The KE Hub is an outward facing, inclusive organisation bringing the most appropriate UK-wide mathematical sciences talent to bear on challenges arising in business, industry, and government (BIG) for the mutual benefit of all parties. It is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

About the role

As KE Hub Coordinator, you will play a key role in enabling the success of the KE Hub. This will involve providing overall day-to-day coordination of the KE Hub, engaging with stakeholders across the country and enabling an ambitious portfolio of events, activities, and initiatives.

The KE Hub is currently hosted by the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cambridge, but will move to a new host institution in January 2026. There is the possibility of moving employer with the grant, subject to agreement by all parties.  Any employment after the end of 2025 will be subject to a separate contract.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • providing overall day-to-day coordination of the KE Hub,
  • acting as a main point of contact,
  • maintaining communications and organising meetings,
  • managing project documents (organising and facilitating contributions from stakeholders where appropriate),
  • providing secretariat for KE Hub committees and meetings and financial management and administration,
  • carrying out data analysis,
  • organising flagship events,
  • coordinating administrative support for all KE Hub initiatives.

What you will have

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level / Level 6 vocational qualification or have an equivalent level of practical experience. They will have experience in an administrative role and in developing and reviewing administrative processes and systems. They will also have:

  • demonstrable advanced knowledge of project coordination,
  • excellent organisational skills,
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • excellent minute-taking skills, with accuracy and attention to detail,
  • high levels of competence in standard software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
