Job description:
Are you interested in working for a top-ranked, triple-crown accredited (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA) Management School? With world-class facilities, ground-breaking research and cutting-edge thinking, we are seeking applications from ambitious, highly motivated and talented individuals who will be keen to play an active role in further enhancing the Management School’s international reputation for excellence in research, teaching and innovation that has positive societal impact.
We are looking to recruit a Research Associate on a 5 year fixed term contract to work as a data specialist for a new research partnership focussing on organisational interventions to help improve NHS staff wellbeing, funded by the National Institute for Health Research.
This post will involve significant work in two main areas. First, the mapping and accessing of NHS routine data at national and local levels (in particular with organisations in five Integrated Care Service areas that we are working with), which will require careful attention to different information governance regulations. Second, the collation, linkage and analysis of data to evaluate interventions, and to provide NHS organisations with the resources to do this.
The post will require strong data analysis and management skills, as well as experience of working with NHS data and familiarity with NHS research procedures. The role will require close working with the wider team including researchers based at other institutions. While the post is based at Sheffield University Management School, occasional travel will be necessary both for meetings with the wider project team and for fieldwork at NHS sites.

We are keen to attract a diverse applicant pool. We encourage all potential candidates to reflect on their strengths and experience in the broadest sense, including transferable skills where appropriate, when considering their suitability for the position. Additionally, the panel will ensure that any career gaps due to caring responsibilities or illness are appropriately taken into consideration. In all cases, we will select the best candidate for the role.
