The Civic HealthTech Innovation Zone (CHI-Zone) is being established to accelerate the growth of the health and life science sector, upskill residents and create jobs for the Liverpool City Region. A new team is being created, as part of the CHI-Zone, to develop tools to leverage information from health datasets to guide advancements in pharmaceutical research. Within this team, as Post-doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) in Informatics you will deliver state-of-the-art informatics pipelines and visualisation tools that generate actionable insights from health and laboratory data.
Working under the supervision of Professors Simon Maskell and Iain Buchan, you will work with other members of the Maskell group and the University’s Civic Health Innovation Labs. You will assume primary responsibility for planning, co-ordinating, developing and implementing software pipelines for the analysis and integration of complex research datasets to meet user needs. You will also deliver visualisations to effectively summarise low-level data in support of the decision-making process.
You should have a PhD (or near completion) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
The post is available from 1st April 2025 until 31st March 2028.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
