IT Service Desk Engineer

London campus (hybrid working with travel to other locations as necessary)

£25,138 to £28,759 per annum plus London Weighting Allowance of £4,000 per annum

We are now looking for an IT Service Desk Engineer to join our London campus on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

THE ROLE

The role of Service Desk Engineer is to provide 1st and 2nd line IT support for end users to receive support and maintenance within the University’s desktop computing environment such as in-house computer systems, desktops, laptops, peripherals, AV equipment and translation equipment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment whilst ensuring optimal workstation performance.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered in this role, you will need:

• Good level of general education
• Previous experience in providing high quality technical support
• Previous experience of using IT Service Desk software to log issues/requests
• Previous experience of common software tools, components and peripheral accessories
• Good working knowledge of Network and PC hardware
• Good working knowledge of AV equipment and associated software tools
• Able to work as part of a team and in partnership with others
• Recognises the need for and demonstrates appropriate confidentiality
• Able and prepared to work flexibly, including travel between campuses and locations when required

It would also be beneficial if you held: 

• BTEC or equivalent in a computer-related discipline
• Previous experience of working in Higher Education
• Previous experience of ITIL
