ABOUT US
The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is a dynamic and ambitious institution with campuses in London, Birmingham, and Wales. We offer a range of programmes of study at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including the Doctor of Business Administration DBA in Swansea, a Doctorate in Professional Practice (DPROF) at Carmarthen School of Business As professional doctorate qualifications, these programmes are designed to meet the needs of professionals working in the UK and overseas.
As well as completing their taught modules, the students undertake a thesis drawing on in a doctoral level research project. Each student is supported by a supervisory team, usually of two, who offer regular supervision. The frequency of supervision will vary, but a minimum of ten formal supervisory meetings, usually on a monthly basis, will take place with the student each academic year.
THE ROLE
The DPROF in Carmarthen is a distance programme in which supervision is held online. The DBA in Swansea supervisory team is expected to provide support, guidance, and advice to the students in person on the campus in Swansea for most of the supervision sessions.
We are seeking to make appointments to support doctoral studies in a wide range of topics in Business and Management and Professional Practice, on our Swansea and Carmarthen campuses. Applications from those able to support students studying with qualitative and/or quantitative projects are required.

In addition, you will need to evidence a commitment to enhancing the student experience with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop professional relationships. You will need to demonstrate effective organisational skills, with the ability to apply attention to detail and meet the students’ deadlines, and be able to work collaboratively with the student, the supervisory team and the wider UWTSD team.
For the DBA required attendance on campus for supervision sessions is needed to comply with immigration requirements for international students.
UWTSD has a vibrant research student community supported through its Doctoral College which provides support, training, and community for both staff and students.
