- THE ROLE -

The Centre for Digital Healthcare Technology (CDHT) is a once in a generation opportunity to accelerate innovation in the Belfast region and beyond. This exciting £42M centre brings together world-class academia, industry, and clinicians to build new products and services that will change how healthcare is delivered and boost the economy.

The Centre will help establish the Belfast City Region as one of the best places in the world to design, develop and launch innovative medical devices and diagnostics measurably contributing to economic growth and productivity, reduced healthcare costs, enhanced levels of care and improved patient outcomes. The CDHT also involves the creation of a state-of-the-art open innovation centre adjacent to the new Ulster University Belfast Campus and a Living Lab within the Royal and City Hospital in Belfast, which will be used to accelerate the product development process.
 
The Project Funding Development Manager will enable clinicians, industry, and researchers to work on mutually beneficial projects, driving development in medical technology innovations. The successful candidate will lead on the development and writing CDHT related funding applications working with a highly successful team of innovators with a proven track record of success.

- ABOUT YOU -

- A higher qualification (e.g. Degree or equivalent) in an Engineering, Science, Technology, or Business-related subject area.
- Significant experience in project/funding development and bid writing, with clear evidence of successful delivery against project objectives and an extensive working knowledge of the Digital Health Technology Academic Sector, and an understanding of how to successfully grow Industry–Academic Partnerships.
- Extensive working knowledge of the Digital Health Technology Sector and understanding and knowledge of global trends impact on the industry.
- Extensive working knowledge of the various sources of funding for Med Tech/Health Tech-related projects and how to apply for funding.
- Strong IT skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including databases and spreadsheets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including highly developed negotiation skills and the ability to maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel outside Northern Ireland to attend events or meet with relevant partners/stakeholders.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and to travel as required to meet the needs of the post.
