CSB embodies a collaborative approach, working together with a broad array of stakeholders - from academia, industry, public sector, and civil society - to foster innovative solutions that address the pressing sustainability challenges of our time. We believe that interdisciplinary research and collaboration are key to shaping a more sustainable and equitable business landscape. By intertwining the insights of diverse disciplines, we strive to generate transformative ideas and policies that not only redefine business practices but also contribute to the global sustainability agenda.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to significantly contribute to the advancement of practically oriented research at the Centre. The Research Fellow will play an important role in developing and conducting applied research projects, leading business relations, and acting as the crucial link between research outputs and business practices. This position is essential for driving sustainability solutions, fostering collaboration between the academic and business communities, and engaging in co-creation as research method.

This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an fixed term contract for 18 months, with the potential for extension depending on the funding status.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. A PhD/DBA degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in research consultancy or a similar role, with a strong track record of developing and leading applied research projects, including outputs such as academic publications and reports.
  3. Excellent ability to translate research outputs into practical business solutions.
  4. Proven leadership/line management and project management skills, with the ability to convene and facilitate discussions among diverse groups.
  5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the aptitude for building relationships with both academic and business communities.
  6. A deep understanding of the current trends and challenges in the business sector relevant to our research focus.

Desirable criteria

  1. Established track record of research on sustainable business from a strategy, organisation or innovation perspective.
  2. Experience with engaging with media outlets for knowledge dissemination purposes.
