Do you have Business Analysis skills with a track record of supporting projects related to IT software and systems within a Higher Education environment? If so, we would welcome your application to this full time, fixed term role.

The IT Solutions Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting change projects related to institutional-wide IT software and systems within the University. The IT Solutions Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders, gather, and analyse requirements, and provide recommendations to improve business processes and systems. Additionally, the IT Solutions Analyst will contribute to the IT assurance of new IT software and systems before they are purchased and support requests for bespoke IT solutions for research projects. Broader end to end delivery guidance, process mapping and so on, would be advantageous.

Additionally, the IT Solutions Analyst will actively contribute to the growth and skill development of the wider University community by providing coaching and training where there is local capacity and skill set.

As an IT Solutions Analyst, you can expect to be involved in:

  • Analysing and understanding the University's business requirements, particularly in relation to how these may impact on the related technical changes in Information Services managed/developed platforms
  • Identifying and analysing emerging and shared IT requirements from Schools and Professional Service Departments to support University processes. Assessing requirements alongside Information Services colleagues to determine the most appropriate solution, including business process re-engineering, adoption of an existing IT system or procurement of a new IT system
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather and document detailed project requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and goals. Empowering University staff, where applicable in best practices for requirements gathering, business analysis, process mapping, system evaluation and implementation by providing accessible frameworks, guidance, and training
  • Conducting feasibility studies, impact assessments, and risk analysis to evaluate proposed technical changes and their potential impact on existing systems and processes

What will you bring to the role?

  • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience, for example, as a Business Solutions Analyst or Technical Business Analyst, preferably in the higher education
  • Strong understanding of information systems, IT infrastructure, and business analysis methodologies
  • Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional specifications

What we can offer in return:

As a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing. You'll enjoy a range of great staff benefits including:

  • Hybrid working options allowing a flexible blend of office and home working (to be agreed in line with business needs)
  • 43 days' leave per year (personal leave, bank holidays and additional days allocated for the Christmas period, pro rata for part-time staff)
  • Excellent pension scheme with generous employer contributions
  • Corporate employee-funded healthcare plan, in partnership with Benenden Health
