The Wales Governance Centre is a collaborative research centre within Cardiff University’s School of Law and Politics committed to producing ground-breaking work and with a proud record of supporting the development of new staff.
We are currently seeking a Research Assistant to join Wales Fiscal Analysis, a supportive and growing team within the wider Centre that provides independent analysis on public spending, taxation and public services in Wales.
The successful candidate will have strong quantitative research skills and a proven ability to analyse complex information and summarise appropriately.
We welcome all applications, although we particularly encourage applications from women, and black, Asian and ethnic minority candidates, as they are currently under-represented in the Centre. We will seek to accommodate flexible working arrangements, including job share requests and flexible hours, whenever possible.
For informal enquiries about joining the Wales Governance Centre please contact: Professor Richard Wyn Jones [wynjonesr@cardiff.ac.uk], or Guto Ifan [IfanDG@cardiff.ac.uk].

Cardiff University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity and to creating an inclusive working environment. We believe this can be achieved through attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse range of staff from many different backgrounds. We therefore welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of sex, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, trans identity, relationship status, religion or belief, caring responsibilities, or age. We especially welcome and encourage applications from those from under-represented groups within the University workforce, such as those who identify as LGBT +, BAME or those with disabilities. In supporting our employees to achieve a balance between their work and their personal lives, we will also consider proposals for flexible working or job share arrangements.
Cardiff University is a signatory to the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), which means that in hiring and promotion decisions we will evaluate applicants on the quality of their research, not publication metrics or the identity of the journal in which the research is published.
