The role will involve the application of scenario-based testing approaches for ADAS and Automated Driving Systems, including scenario generation, defining and analysing the operational design domain (ODD), using scenario definition languages, and applying ontological concepts in testing. In addition, the role will involve in developing testing plans and measuring coverage across functional and safety requirements, by applying systems engineering techniques. The role is part of a wider team which includes experts in scenario concepts, data scientists, simulation-based testing and safety analysis, and this role will involve close cooperation with this wider team.
Successful candidate will be exposed to a variety of academic and industrial partners through a number of our research projects like Horizon Europe funded SUNRISE, SYNERGIES, EVENTS, i4Driving etc., and UKRI / Innovate UK / CCAV funded, UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, DriveSafeAI.

About You
The successful candidate will need to have strong knowledge and experience in application of systems engineering concepts and automated vehicle operation. You will need a good understanding of concepts like ontology, coverage metrics, operational design domain, test scenarios) for developing tests to verify and validate systems requirements. You will also need to demonstrate understanding of standards like SAE J3016, ISO 21434 and other relevant safety standards in automated driving.
