About Us
UCL’s Faculty of Laws is a dynamic, highly respected and friendly community, which enjoys global recognition for the quality of its teaching and research. For almost 200 years, UCL Laws has been one of the leading centres of legal education in the world.
We believe research and education should make difference; a difference to thinking about law, to the practice of law, and to the administration of justice. Our scholarship and research-led education draws on doctrine, theory, and social science, and is interdisciplinary and global in nature. We have achieved the highest ratings in the last four instances of the Research Excellence Framework (REF), including being the top ranked law school in the UK REF2021 (highest GPA, highest overall 4* results, and highest QI). We pride ourselves on the collaborative and welcoming atmosphere of UCL Laws, and our community of students, teachers, researchers and alumni enables its members to realise their potential.
About the opportunity
UCL Laws is offering two funded visiting research positions to outstanding researchers wishing to pursue their own research for a period of 1-3 months and to deepen their relationship with the Faculty:
• Distinguished Visiting Fellows are senior researchers with an established international reputation in their area(s) of research specialisation
• Early Career Visiting Fellows are junior researchers recognised as rising stars in their area(s) of research specialisation.
Visiting Fellows will have the opportunity to contribute to Faculty life by engaging with research and teaching activities and by participating in research seminars and events.
The Faculty offers support of up to £15,000 annually across the two positions towards relevant expenses incurred during the visit, including travel and accommodation. Funds are allocated based on reasonable budget, need and ensuring fair opportunity across the two positions.
