Background
The City Law School has the largest single cohort for Bar training delivering the very highest quality legal education to over 400 students each year from the UK and around the world. We are based in Clerkenwell in a modern, architect-designed building with access to cutting edge technology and facilities.
Responsibilities
The City Law School is seeking to appoint two permanent full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturers and one 12-month fixed term contract (with potential to extend up to 3 years) full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our exceptional team on the Bar Vocational Studies course. We are looking for qualified barristers with experience of professional practice at the Bar of England and Wales. Previous experience of teaching is desirable but not essential as training will be provided to the successful candidates. Person Specification
We require lecturers who can deliver knowledge and skills, including advocacy, on the Civil and/or Criminal parts of the course. Applications are welcome from all areas of practice.
Teaching on the BVS mostly takes place between September and April. The City Law School encourages and supports staff to maintain active links with the Bar subject to teaching commitments. There is a significant number of lecturers on the team who enjoy the benefits of a stimulating and rewarding career at City alongside maintaining a practice or a part-time judicial appointment.
