Background
The Department of Computer Science has over 60 academic staff and is ranked within the top third of computer science research institutions in the UK (REF2021). The department hosts the UK's only Centre for Doctoral Training in Visualization, which recently received over £10M in funding from EPSRC and commercial partners for PhD training over the next decade.
Through a variety of taught programmes, the department includes a student body of over 1000 undergraduate, 200 postgraduate and 75 doctoral research students.
Responsibilities
We are looking at making 3 new appointments to enhance our undergraduate education through creative and innovative teaching and programme design and to build on our results from REF 2021.
The successful applicants will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative and engaging education across a range of modules in Computer Science.
In addition, the applicants will be expected to produce high-quality paper publications, contribute to the process of generating income/securing funds and supervise undergraduate, postgraduate and/or doctoral students.
Person Specification
The successful applicants will hold a PhD degree in Computer Science or related subject.
They will have experience in delivering high standards of teaching across modules within Computer Science. They will have an excellent track-record of high-quality published research at leading venues.
