Full Time Fixed Term (24 months)
The Southampton Clinical Trials Unit (SCTU) has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medical Statistician*. SCTU is an industry-leading trials unit, with expertise in the design, conduct and publication of multicentre, interventional clinical trials and other well-designed studies that will influence routine clinical practice. SCTU is a Cancer Research UK core-funded, UKCRC registered clinical trials unit.
The role involves working in trial teams to deliver clinical studies, including development of trial reports and conducting statistical analyses. Our trials cover many clinical areas, including cancer care. You will be joining a motivated and highly regarded team.
Successful applicants will have a postgraduate professional qualification and experience or PhD in statistics or another relevant discipline. Experience with statistical software is also required.
The Southampton Clinical Trials Unit (SCTU) is based at University Hospitals Southampton NHS Trust and the post is offered with the potential for hybrid office/home working. The post is available on a full or part time fixed term basis for 24 months in the first instance.

Applications will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon completion of PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
