We are seeking a Regenerative Materials and Prototyping Technician to join the Technical Support Team (TSD) at our beautiful and inspiring Highlands and Islands Campus near Forres. We are looking for an inspired and motivated team player who will enjoy working in a creative and dynamic educational environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and day-to-day operation of the new Regenerative Materials Lab in partnership with the other two Technicians, working as part of the TSD Altyre team.

You will support and maintain a welcoming and accessible Altyre community Maker Space responsive to student and staff needs while ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines and best practice.

You should be qualified to HND level (or above) or have equivalent experience in regenerative materials such as mycelium, bio plastics, bio composites and bio based material design and prototyping. You should be able to provide innovative new material solutions to creative problems using novel techniques and recipes, as well as being able to blend traditional hand-crafted production skills with current innovations. As a new facility, you will be able to contribute to the direction of this exciting area and with the Altyre team grow this unique space for the future development of new materials.
