Location: Glasgow
Salary: £57,422 to £66,537 per annum [Pro Rata]. Grade 8
Hours: Part Time
Contract Type: Permanent

Closes: 28th February 2025

Contract: Permanent

Working pattern: 21 hours per week

The MLitt Curatorial Practice (Contemporary Art) (CP(CA)) is a 12-month Master’s programme run jointly between The School of Fine Art (GSA) and The School of Culture and Creative Arts (University of Glasgow), aimed at graduates wishing to develop a curatorial pathway within the field of contemporary visual arts and other cultural fields.

As Programme Leader you will work closely with the Head of School of Fine Art, the Post-Graduate Programme Director, and other Heads of Department as a member of the School of Fine Art Senior Management Team. You will have overarching responsibility for the academic development and delivery of the MLitt CP(CA) programme, working in close partnership with the 0.4FTE colleague from the University of Glasgow’s School of Culture and Creative Arts.

The successful applicant will have extensive knowledge of curatorial practice and contemporary art, and significant experience in Higher Education.

The programme has a strong identity rooted in exploring and contributing to the cultural and curatorial ecosystems of Scotland and Glasgow within a global context. Your experience, or willingness to actively engage in this will be essential as you continue to foster dynamic relationships between the programme, the local cultural landscape and the international community.

You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to decentralised approaches to curation and education. We seek a leader capable of promoting inclusive practices. You will engage an internationally diverse cohort of students in exploring diverse audiences, histories, practices, and cultures of curation, challenging dominant Western paradigms. This will be a feature of your approach to education and, potentially, your research. You will be able to provide evidence of leading innovative and inclusive educational practices.

You will have a proven track record of high-quality research, and a willingness to take a proactive role in one the School of Fine Art’s research networks, positively contributing to the research community within the School and the GSA.
