This new part-time (0.2 FTE) post is available from 24 February 2025 until 30 April 2026 on a fixed term basis.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The role

The role of Associate Lecturer (Academic Mentor for Health and Care Professions Degree Apprenticeship Programmes - Education and Scholarship) will include supporting the student learning experience using a range of approaches and modes of delivery appropriate to the teaching allocated. As an Academic Mentor, you will act as first point of contact for students and their line managers working in a variety of healthcare organisations across the country, providing pastoral care and mentoring while they are studying their Degree Apprenticeship.

This role sits in the Department of Health and Care Professions and is primarily to support the Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging Degree Apprenticeship though could be required to support other degree apprenticeship programmes in the department if required.

About you

For an Academic Mentor post you will:

  • Possess a breadth of knowledge pertaining to healthcare and be a confident and capable mentor, comfortable and professional when in contact with students and their employers.
  • Staff at this level are expected to achieve Associate Fellow of the HEA within two years of appointment (if not already achieved) and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
