Finance Systems Manager

About the role

To lead the Finance Systems Team in the day to day operation of finance systems and processes, creating an excellent, reliable infrastructure which contributes to the development and implementation of the Finance strategy to deliver the University’s strategic objectives and to improve efficiency of the system of financial control.

What you would be doing

The post will manage personnel focused on routine, operational support of key systems, ensuring they are functioning securely, reliably and effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage the Finance Systems team, regularly reviewing the duties and performance of the team to ensure that the roles and responsibilities continue to be fit for purpose and maximum value is delivered.
• Manage the overall relationship with ICT, ensuring understanding of Finance objectives, alignment of priorities, and progress of ongoing activities.
• Work supportively and collaboratively with the ERP Project Team, agreeing pre-ERP, and transitional system related activities. Understand and plan the operational impact changes to the ERP system will have on day-to-day support operations and supporting controls.

What we are looking for

• Degree or equivalent is essential
• Full accountancy qualification desirable
• A recognised IT service Management/ Test Management qualification is desirable
• Project Management qualification is desirable
• A strong manager with significant management experience is essential
• Experience of working as a Finance Systems Manager is essential
• Knowledge of core finance systems and processes is essential
• Advanced knowledge of Orable EBS finance modules is essential
