About the Role

As the Client Devices Manager, you will oversee and enhance our End User Computing (EUC) services, ensuring reliability, responsiveness, and security across the University. Leading a team of specialists, you will set and maintain technical standards for various devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones, as well as operating systems and applications.

You will deliver high-quality EUC services that support the University's teaching and research goals. By working closely with academic, professional, and medical staff, you will define service standards, drive continuous improvement, and implement modern technologies. Your focus areas will include remote and cloud-based services, BYOD support, and secure IT solutions tailored to the University's needs.

Your responsibilities will include managing team performance, financial planning, and project delivery, ensuring the operational needs of diverse faculties and departments are met. Additionally, you will strategically contribute to the development of EUC services in alignment with the University’s IT and strategic goals.

About You

You are an experienced leader with a strong background in End User Computing (EUC) and a commitment to customer-focused IT services. Your proven track record includes managing specialist teams, driving service excellence, and implementing innovative solutions in complex environments.

You will bring:

  • Experience in managing enterprise-level EUC services with a focus on quality, security, and performance.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing EUC teams and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior managers, staff, and students to maintain high IT service standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of SCCM, InTune, Autopilot, MSI Packaging, PowerShell, and common desktop applications like Office.
  • Strong understanding of M365 services and IT security/compliance best practices.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11 deployment, virtual technologies (e.g., Azure Virtual Desktop), and hardware support.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automating desktop processes, including OS patching and application deployment.
  • Experience in leading complex projects, managing resources, and prioritizing workloads.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and relationship management skills.

The IT Services department supports the University by enabling transformational change and maintaining complex operations. We enhance research, teaching, and professional services with high-performance computing, data storage, desktop support, and digital solutions.
