About the Role
The Department of Film, within the School of the Arts is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Film Practice (Teaching and Scholarship). This post is part-time (17.5 hours p/w) and fixed-term with an expected start date of 01 August 2025 until 31 July 2028 and available to cover staff absence through research grant funding.
Duties will include convening and teaching undergraduate modules in film practice, and modules combining film theory and practice, contributing to MA provision as appropriate, (co)-supervising PhD students, and undertaking administrative roles as required within the Department. You will be expected to teach on some of the following modules: BA Documentary Theory and Practice, BA Research Project by Film Practice, MA Documentary Theory and Practice, MA Creative Documentary.
About You
You will hold a PhD in Film or have an equivalent professional qualification as a practicing filmmaker, together with the ability to deliver teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The ability to work constructively and flexibly with colleagues, good organisational and communicative skills are also essential.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is part-time (17.5 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 3 years (until 31 July 2028), with an expected start date of 01 August 2025. The starting salary will be Grade 5, £50,685 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London allowance.
