Psychology at the University of Exeter

The Department of Psychology seeks to appoint an outstanding scholar in psychedelic studies to join our team of exceptional scientists and educators. The successful candidate will join our active, large, and diverse transdisciplinary psychedelics network.

We are looking for an outstanding and highly experienced educator to lead our innovative portfolio of online and on-campus programmes that provide a transdisciplinary approach to psychedelics: our PGCert in Psychedelics, and our MSc Psychedelics (online and on-campus). In addition to acting as programme director, the successful candidate will also contribute to teaching across our extensive portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The successful candidate will have an established track record in programme management and expertise in the delivery of innovative education; both in person and online. They will help us to deliver an inclusive and innovative education in our undergraduate and postgraduate programs. They should also have experience of driving the development of new educational portfolios at postgraduate level.

The role

We are seeking to appoint a new Senior Lecturer with a particular interest in delivering outstanding education in psychedelics from a transdisciplinary perspective.

About you

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD in a cognate area relevant to the teaching of psychedelics, or equivalent, of the core knowledge relating to psychedelics and psychology in order to teach and support learning on modules related to psychedelics and psychology.
  • Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
  • Be expected to work towards Principal Fellow of the HEA and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
