Background
The Department of Economics, based in the School of Policy and Global Affairs, excels in research and education, specializing in microeconomics, behavioural, public, macro, and financial economics. Over 90% of our research output is rated as internationally excellent. Our work is at the frontier of practice with over 80% of our impact rated as internationally excellent.
We offer research-led education to 1,500 students at undergraduate and post-graduate level, focusing on employability, transferable skills, and social mobility. Our growing PhD programme is part of the South-East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS) Doctoral Training Partnerships, funded by the ESRC. Responsibilities
The Department seeks to appoint an academic as Senior Lecturer in health economics, focusing on economic evaluation and empirical applications in health technology assessment. The successful candidate will join a collaborative working environment. Candidates should demonstrate ability to produce world-leading and internationally excellent research, attract external research funding, support interdisciplinary collaborations, and deliver outstanding research-led transformative education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also supervise students and contribute to administrative duties at various levels.
Person Specification
The Successful Candidate will have a PhD in Economics or cognate field, with a track record of world-leading and internationally excellent publications in Economics, successful external grant capture and substantive plans for future research and grant applications. You should have demonstrable experience of delivering high-quality teaching, of enhancing the student experience, with the ability to inspire our students.
