This post is part-time, 29.2 hours per week/0.8 FTE and is on a fixed-term basis until March 31 2026. A lower FTE (minimum 0.6 FTE) may be considered. There is the potential for the post to be extended depending on funding.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home. It is based on Streatham campus, Exeter.

Summary of the role
The new position will be based within the Enterprise and Innovation Programmes team which is part of EI. EI is the professional team that supports and drives the University’s relationships with business and other non-academic partners, driving innovation and making a big impact on society and the economy. Its key aim is to secure significantly greater value and impact from relationships with partners drawing on the University’s education, research and physical assets. This includes research collaboration, commercial services, new venture development skills, placements, and education partnerships with business recruitment.

EIP Officers are responsible for supporting and growing a portfolio of projects relating to consultancy, IP exploitation, contract research and other business programmes and commercial activities of the University across all Faculties and departments. They work with colleagues to develop stakeholder relationships and other projects which contribute to the delivery of the EI strategy and to the creation of impact.

This post will be responsible for delivering the University’s Impact Accelerator Accounts (IAA) which consists of the AHRC, ESRC, EPSRC, and MRC, as well as the internally funded Open Innovation Platform (OIP).

This role will assist with the day-to-day management of the Translational Funding Portfolio. Some of the other main duties include:

  • Understanding the rules and requirements of the schemes,
  • Ensuring these are reflected in guidance given to applicants,
  • Supporting the application, review and reporting processes and deadlines,
  • Attending workshops/meetings and representing the Translational Funding team at external and internal events,
  • Liaising with the funding bodies and key stakeholders in the Exeter team, and,
  • Managing the budgets for the schemes.
