We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to play a central role in the delivery of the strategic programme of work of the Lancet Countdown: Tracking Progress on Health and Climate Change.

About the role

The Programme Manager will work with the Executive Director and the Head of Operations to coordinate the programme of work, ensuring integration between the Lancet Countdown’s different workstreams, and between its global and regional centres, to achieve the strategic objectives of the collaboration. They will also support the secretariat and regional centres in the timely delivery and support the Lancet Countdown’s global collaboration in the production of its academic report and other outputs.

The postholder will also support the coordination of the Lancet Countdown’s high-level governance bodies, and lead on the internal communication and integration of the collaboration. This post will be key to the success of the next phase of Lancet Countdown and will provide the successful candidate with opportunities to develop their career within an international organisation.

This is a full-time role (i.e. 36.5 hours per week) and it is available immediately until April 2029 in the first instance.

About you

It is essential that the successful candidate has a Bachelor`s degree in public health, project management, or a related field.

Proven experience in programme management, preferably in international and multidisciplinary organisations and demonstrated experience in independently managing projects and responding to changes effectively are also essential criteria for this role.

The successful candidate must have proficiency in developing and managing complex programmes of work, strong project planning and co-ordination skills, including the use of project planning tools and software and excellent interpersonal and people management skills.

The role requires that the post holder is willing to join meetings out of normal working hours.
