Location: Glasgow
Salary: £58,596 to £65,814 per annum (Grade 9)

The School of Critical Studies in the College of Arts and Humanities seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Communications.

Applications are invited from candidates with an appropriate record of academic achievement in Communications as a Higher Education specialism. We are looking for a candidate who will complement our existing strengths across teaching and research, and who will lead and develop this new subject area for our School.

The postholder will make a substantial and positive contribution to the strategic direction of the School and College through contributing to research of an international standard and securing research funding, through high quality teaching and programme development at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and through offering academic administration within the School and across the College.

Communications will sit within the English Language and Linguistics subject area, alongside the School’s other subject areas of English Literature, Scottish Literature and Theology and Religious Studies. In its research, the School fosters excellent connections with collaborators across Glasgow and beyond, and Communications colleagues will work actively and impactfully with local partners towards public engagement with their teaching and research. This appointment is the first step of our plan to develop a suite of Communications and Global Communications programmes, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and the successful applicant will be central to the recruitment of staff and students in this subject area.
