About us:

The King’s Business School Careers team support our students’ career planning, application processes and professional development throughout their studies. We are a team of nine, all with a passion for our student futures and we have a friendly, helpful culture operating in a flexible environment.

About the role:

Our work-related learning offering has been growing in the past 18 months and aims to provide experiential development opportunities for our students, in and out of their curriculum to support our students to be business-ready in a fast-changing world of work. This position reports to our Work-Related Learning Manager and will support with the growing design and delivery of a suite of activities ran for our undergraduate and postgraduate students. There will be an opportunity to support established impactful projects like our micro-internship schemes and lead and design new elements to the provision like our new simulation days launching this year for our first credit-bearing Professional Development module. We presently operate predominantly outside of the curriculum but are building our partnerships with faculty members and aim to support faculty members with expanding their industry engagement and opportunities for their students. 

The successful applicant will need to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be key to success, from established partners to academics looking to engage with our support to enhance their student’s high-quality learning.

In addition, our team strive to be a data and evidence-driven provision. The Work-Related Learning provision is now an established offering for our student and part of the next phase is developing and evidencing our impact whilst understanding our student uptake and areas of opportunity and challenge will support the development of our provision and whole student offering. 

This is a full time and you will be offered an indefinite contract

The position requires 40% of time based on our Bush House campus minimum – 2 days per week

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Experience of designing student-led activities and engagements that provide learning opportunities for participants
  2. Successfully organised and led in-person events and activities for a range of audiences
  3. Has an interest in work-related learning, and how institutes develop our students to be ready for their future beyond education
  4. Excellent track record of productive stakeholder engagement at all levels and with internal and external stakeholders with the ability to influence others
  5. Is data driven with analytical skills and the ability to interpret, report and present various forms of data to different audiences
  6. Natural collaborator with a positive, solutions-focused, approach and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Desirable criteria

  1. Business School Experience and / or experience of working within a Higher Education environment
  2. Exposure to work-related, experiential, work-based learning activities in education
