An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Associate to join Norwich Clinical Trials Unit, within Norwich Medical School.

Norwich CTU is a UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Unit, based at the University of East Anglia in the East of England. We support a large number of Clinical Research Projects across a broad range of clinical disciplines and interventions including multicentre randomised drug, device and complex intervention trials.

In this post, the Senior Research Associate will contribute to a unique NIHR-funded project identifying and tackling the barriers to participation in clinical trials for people with mental and physical disabilities.

Over the course of the project you will work with our charity partner, Disability Rights UK, and a stakeholder group of patients, carers and healthcare professionals. You will help design and implement an e-learning resource, and pilot test this resource with researchers in a non-randomised feasibility study. You will analyse and interpret data, write up results and present information on research progress and outcomes.

You will have a postgraduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant research area. You will also have experience of independent research, have publications in respected journals or equivalent within the field and be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Advanced skills directly relating to this research area and a passion for clinical trials methodology research would be advantageous.

This full-time post is available from 1 February 2025 on a fixed term basis for 19 months.

UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including hybrid working. Details of preferred hours should be stated in the personal statement and will be discussed further at interview.

Closing date: 3 January 2025
