The Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI) is a unique partnership between the University of Cambridge and ten internationally renowned conservation organisations. Our mission is to conserve and restore biodiversity, aiming for a world where nature and people thrive. We work through interdisciplinary collaboration, combining research, education, policy, and practice to transform international biodiversity conservation.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Head of Communications and Impact to lead the development and implementation of an ambitious, externally facing communications strategy. This role will enhance CCI's global presence and influence, aligning with our growing ambitions and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in developing high-level strategies for impact and influence, along with excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to draft complex documents and write compelling pieces for diverse audiences. They should have experience working with press, media organisations, and advocacy groups, as well as in developing and managing high-performing teams and networks. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in fundraising and promoting complex ideas to a wide range of audiences. Personal attributes include being self-motivated, proactive, personable, and able to handle multiple tasks independently. The candidate should be educated to degree level or equivalent and a familiarity with CCI partners and programmes, as well as a good understanding of international conservation issues and social justice in conservation, would be advantageous.
This role is based in central Cambridge and offers a hybrid working arrangement. The role holder will be expected to attend the office every week.
Part-time: The hours for this post are 30 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
