About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Chemical Characterisation Facility, part of the University of Bath Core Research Facilities team, as a full-time Technical Specialist in the area of NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry (MS).
The role will involve providing NMR and MS analytical services using cutting-edge techniques for researchers and students across the University of Bath, other higher education institutes and external companies, with a goal of enabling and accelerating research and innovation within this specialist area.
About us
The Chemical Characterisation Facility includes multiple NMR and MS instruments, alongside a range of chromatography equipment.
Our team operate and maintain the instrument base, train and support a diverse range of users across multiple applications, arrange lectures and courses on our techniques and provide a consultancy service to companies and other Universities requiring access to our specialist equipment and expertise.
This role will support each of these activities, providing the successful candidate with an opportunity to expand and broaden their expertise in these key analytical techniques.

We are looking for a motivated team player, with a keen interest and practical working experience within the NMR and/or MS fields, and a passion to share their knowledge and expertise with a range of users.
