The University’s Wellbeing Support Team are looking to recruit to a post that has become vacant being for a Sexual and Domestic Abuse Adviser. The post is 0.9 FTE (33.5 hours per week), permanent and all year round.
The post offers an excellent opportunity for someone holds a qualification as an Independent Sexual Violence Adviser (ISVA) or Independent Domestic Abuse Adviser (IDVA) and who has experience of supporting survivors/ individuals who have experienced sexual assault and/ or domestic abuse.
The purpose of the role is to provide a high standard of both practical and emotional support to students from the University of Warwick who are seeking this specialist support.
This role will also involve engagement in preventative, educational and awareness raising interventions across the University – which will include the promotion of the wider Wellbeing and Student Support Services as well as providing information about the Sexual and Domestic Abuse Adviser support available.
In addition, the post holder will provide advice and guidance on complex student-case work in a service, providing professional and confidential support to students with a broad range of issues. This requires a high level of decision-making and an extensive knowledge base and understanding of a very wide range of issues affecting the University community. The post-holder will work along side a 2nd Sexual and Domestic Abuse Adviser within the Wellbeing and Student Support Services.
This role will require an Enhanced DBS with Child’s Barred List check.

About You
We are looking to employ someone who has the skills to provide 1:1 specialist support to survivors/ individuals who have experienced sexual assault and/ or domestic abuse.
Our ideal candidate will be able to assess the needs of students seeking this specialist support, and have the skills to be able to meet their practical and emotional needs.
The successful candidate will be required to maintain professional links with both local and national organisations who are involved in the provision of support in this specialist area, as well as take part in forums with colleagues from other Universities in the UK who are in similar roles/ posts.
