We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Education Support Worker Co-ordinator to join us on a Permanent basis - 37hrs per week TTO + 2weeks.

The role of ESW Co-ordinator is to supervise the continued development of the ESW team and the support of students as individuals to encourage independence and success. Further Education is continually developing, and the rate of change is unlikely to slow down. Therefore, an ESW Co-ordinator must be flexible to take on changing responsibilities.

Specific duties of the role include:

  • Attend transition reviews, EHCP meetings and admissions interviews for applicants with SEND.
  • Liaise with multi agencies, parents/carers, ALS team/Co-ordinators to ensure appropriate support packages are in place for students which includes transition and on programme support.
  • Contribute to the production of support plans to be shared with ESW and Curriculum Teams.
  • Supporting groups and/or individual learners with identified Learning Difficulties /Disabilities.
  • Co-ordinate the timetabling process liaising with Curriculum Teams, ESW’s and with agencies when required to meet the demands of the area ensuring appropriate support for identified students is in place.
  • Ensure accurate records are in place to assist the Head of ALS in monitoring hours including pro solution entries.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of acting in a supervisory and/or mentoring role is essential.
  • Experience of work as an ESW is essential.
  • Experience of working in a learning context is essential.
  • Experience of working in a team is essential.
  • Experience of working with people aged 16 years and above who have learning difficulties/disabilities/mental health problems is essential.
  • A recognised qualification in support work (or equivalent certification) is essential.
  • A good level of education with a minimum A*-C in Maths and English (or equivalent)
