We are seeking applications from candidates with a track record and interests that are aligned to the NIHR 2023-24 priority research theme of “Therapeutics or clinical pharmacology”. NIHR acknowledge that therapeutic opportunities exist beyond clinical pharmacology in GMC specialties where application of therapeutics is key. The successful applicant could therefore be aligned to clinical pharmacology or another specialty (Neurology, Cardiology, ITU) linked to therapeutic development in that specialty. Biomarkers are critical in therapeutic development so this CL post could also be linked to Platform Science and Bioinformatics.
Successful applicants will demonstrate clear medium and long-term career goals and will demonstrate an ability to win funding for clinical research in a relevant area, in order to deliver publications and clinical health impact. The training will require the trainees spending 50% of their time undergoing academic training combined with clinical training in the remaining 50%.
This post is based at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Liverpool and will be linked through to the most appropriate Liverpool NHS Trust, dependent on the successful applicant’s specialty.
The post is available on a fixed term basis until 31st January 2029 or earlier, if CCT date is before that date.
