Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate in Electronic Properties of Van der Waals Heterostructures
Applications are invited for a Research Associate position within Condensed Matter Physics group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy, The University of Manchester. You will join a vibrant team of researchers who have been at the forefront of research on graphene, 2D materials and van der Waals heterostructures since their advent.
The post is available immediately for a period of up to 24 months and will focus on a number of projects investigating the fundamental properties and technological applications of 2D materials and their van der Waals assemblies. Focus of this position is on electron and molecular transport properties of new van der Waals heterostructure devices.
You will hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD in condensed matter physics or equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants with significant proven experience in electron transport measurements and low-temperature techniques with application to 2D devices and van der Waals heterostructures. You will have good theoretical understanding of the electronic and other properties of 2D materials and should also be well-organised and self-motivated with excellent communication skills. This post will report to Professor Sir Andre Geim. A strong publication record in internationally peer reviewed journals is essential.
