About us
The UCL Strategic Plan 2022-2027 outlines a vision for a ‘futures focussed’ UCL education that is ambitious and distinctive. It prompts us to view UCL education and student experience through the lens of current and future students to ensure that we’re able to meet their needs and expectations. It also recognises that ‘the future’ is not a given. Instead, different futures are there to be influenced and shaped by UCL students, staff and graduates through our teaching and research.
One of the aims of the Strategic Plan is to bring together teaching, assessment and employability in order to support student futures. To that end, the new ‘UCL Higher Education Development & Support Institute’ (HEDS) was established in 2024.
About the role
In this job you’ll be one of three senior managers within the HEDS Development and Planning team. You will work closely with your peers, the Associate Director for Development and Planning, and the ChangeMakers Manager and Student Opportunities and Partnerships Officer to oversee the development, management, delivery and evaluation of UCL’s two flagship student partnership initiatives - ChangeMakers and Student Fellows. Our ChangeMakers program supports students and staff who want to work together in partnership to enhance the learning experience of students. Student Fellows works with staff on a selection of enhancement activities including evaluation, impact measurement and reviewing the sustainability of ChangeMakers project outputs.
A full range of duties can be found on the attached job description.
About you
To do this job you’ll need a degree or equivalent work experience, and substantial experience of working successfully with students as partners. You’ll be skilled in project management, with a track record of delivering against target and evaluating impact. You’ll be able to utilise and analyse quantitative and qualitative data to monitor activity and ensure continuous quality improvement. You’ll be a ‘solutions’ person, with the ability to identify and respond effectively to needs of colleagues and other stakeholders with efficient and impactful solutions.
Please review the job description before applying, paying particular attention to the essential and desirable criteria, and ensure these are covered in your application.
